Both hosts of the 2019 World Men’s Handball Championship, Germany and Denmark have won their groups in the main round, as there is a chance for an all-hosts final on Sunday.
The Germans won their final game in the main phase against Spain 31:30 and went through to the semi-finals as group winners. France lost 20:23 to Croatia, but still finished on the second place and will have a chance to retain the crown for second time and to become World Handball Champions for 3rd time in a row.

Denmark won the Group II by winning tonight’s match against Sweden 30:26. The got a revenge over the Swedes for the loss in the semi-final of last year’s European Championship and ended their medal hopes, as Sweden finished on the 3rd position in the group and will play against Croatia for the 5th place in the World. The third Scandinavian country in Group II, Norway won 35:26 against Hungary and is the fourth and final country in the semi-finals.
The semi-finals will take place in the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg on Friday :
