Chelsea have completed the signing of Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain on loan for the rest of the season. He spent the first half of the campaign on loan at AC Milan where he scored eight goals.
Higuain reunites with Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri, as he played under him at Napoli in 2015-16, when he scored 36 times in 35 matches, breaking the record for Italy’s top flight set by Gunnar Nordahl in 1950.
Gonzalo isn’t playing at his best at the moment, but he believes that his relationship with Sarri will help him get back his form. On the other side Chelsea desperately need a striker, a classic number 9 player, and Higuain may be the solution of their attacking problems.
Higuain has started his career at River Plate and after just one season moved to Europe, signing for Real Madrid. He spent 6 years in Spain, scoring 107 goals in 190 matches for Los Blancos. Then moved to Italy, where he played for Napoli, Juventus and AC Milan.
