It is going to be an all-Scandinavian final in the 2019 World Men’s Handball Championship, as hosts Denmark will face their northern neighbours Norway.
Denmark trashed the World Champions France 38-30 in the first semi-final. Mikkel Hansen put an outstanding performance, scoring 12 goals and leading his country into the World Championship final. It is going to be fourth final for Denmark, as they are yet to win the competition.
Norway won against the other hosts Germany 31-25 and will play in their second World Championship final in a row.
Magnus Rod scored 7 goals and was later voted as Player of the Match. Sander Sagosen and Bjarte Myrhol also had a great game, both scoring 6 goals each. Uwe Gensheimer was most effective in the German team with 7 goals, unfortunately for him, not enough to send his country in the final.
Germany will face France for the bronze medal on Sunday in 14:30 (CET).
Denmark and Norway already played in this tournament, as Denmark won 30-26 in the fifth round of the group stage. The final of the World Men’s Handball Championship is set on Sunday 17:30 (CET) in Jyske Bank Boxen arena in Herning, Denmark.
