2019 Copa America starts on June 14 and will be held in Brazil. It will be the 46th edition of Copa America and the winner of the tournament will have the right to compete for the 2021 FIFA Confederations Cup.
The group stage draw for the competition has been made this morning, as hosts Brazil will face Bolivia Venezuela and Peru.
Defending champions Chile are drawn in the Group C with one of the favorites – Uruguay, Ecuador and guest nation Japan. Chile have won this competition in the last 2 occasions in 2016 and 2015.
Lionel Messi’s Argentina will start the competition against Colombia on June 15. They will also face the other guest nation Qatar and Paraguay in the Group B. Argentina haven’t won the title since 1993, as they lost 4 times in the final of the last 5 Copa America tournaments.
The top two teams in each group plus the two best third-place finishers will qualify for the quarter-finals.
The final will be played on 7 July on the historical Maracana Stadium in Rio.
