NBA fined Anthony Davis $50K for public trade demand by his agent

New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis has been fined $50,000 from the NBA, after his agent publicly said that his client “wants to be traded to a team that allows him a chance to win consistently and compete for a championship.”

It is reported that Anthony Davis’ preferred destination is the Los Angeles Lakers and that he will be a rental for any other team until 2020.

The Pelicans have released a statement yesterday saying that they will deal with the trade on their own terms and won’t be dictated of those outside of their organization.

Davis has spent 6 and a half seasons in New Orleans, as he was selected as a first overall pick on the 2012 NBA draft from the Pelicans.
